I was connecting my famitama to my v5 (not the first time) and suddenly it reset, I just got the clock screen on 1/1 12:00. I tried sticking a paperclip in the reset button to try to download the guys I had but it didn't work, I just got the clock screen again. (I don't even know if the famitama has the download/reset option but I figured it would)

Anyone had the same thing happen to them??

*Edit
Tried reseting after my new eggs were hatched and it does have a download option.

Wow sounds like either one of the famitamas you connected had a low battery because same thing happened with my entamas, They both went to the reset options screen and I lost 9 generations on one of them hitting the wrong option.

So sorry to hear about your 9 generations TL but I didn't even get a chance to download, it was on the 1. gen though so it's not a major loss but still frustrating.
When I tried to connect them the first time it didn't work, I got "fail" on my v5 and probably on the famitama as well, so I thought I had hit the wrong connection option on my famitama. When I tried again it got stuck on the "game/marry" screen. I could use the A button to move the cursor between the two options but I couldn't select anything and I couldn't go back, so it was like I could only use the A button but not B and C. So I stopped pushing the A button, waiting for it to go back to the main screen but instead it just showed the start screen and then the clock. So it doesn't look like power failure to me but rather a software issue.

Hmm...

Try holding the reset button for longer. When I tried to reset my v5, I push the button for a while before the load/reset screen came up.

It's working fine now, I hope it sticks. I did as someone on Tamazone recommended, took the battery out and pulled on the metal that connects the battery to the circuit board in case it had been power failure.

My V5 did that a couple months ago! I think it's a common glitch.
