Question: In the area you live does it feel like Tamagotchi is quickly losing popularity?
Sadly, it sure feels like it.
Dying down somewhat, but still alive.
Maybe a little, but certainly not much.
Popularity is still crazy where I am!

I feel sad. I feel like the quality of new tamas has steadily decreased with every new version. The music stars are definitely a step up,  but I feel like they might not survive long enough to become popular again. I feel like I hardly ever see someone else with a tamagotchi now, when a few years age everyone had them. I guess my community isn't as bad as some, but it's definitely died down a lot. I gotta start wearing mine everywhere again. I remember when I got my first tamagotchi, everyone had one. The school hadn't even locked down on the no electronics rule yet. I miss then. *sniff*  Cry

I'd definitely say they're dead, over here.

I haven't picked up a new Tamagotchi in so long... I knew the Version-engine would run out of steam quickly.

I don't even think bringing the TMGC+C overseas would bring the brand back.. They'll need to pull another Tamagotchi Connection and bring in something drastically new... not just a colour screen with the exact same game.
Now, by that I don't mean they should throw out the Virtual Pet entirely... That (in my mind at the very least) is what killed the new line from the start. V2 was shady and V3 screamed of a plan that would eventually end in ruins, in my mind. What kept me from buying as much, at least, was that they never changed the pet itself and kept weighing down with features that merely distracted...

tl;dr, Bandai? MAKE ANOTHER MORINO IT'LL SELL LIKE HOTCAKES AND THE BRAND WILL BE BACK AND THE WORLD WILL BE IN YOUR PALM ALL YOU NEED IS TO MAKE A NEW VERSION OF THE MORINO PLZ PLZ PLZ Grin Grin Grin

(...or you could, y'know, blame the recession...)

it may not be as popular as it used 2 be,but as long as they make the video games there will still be tamagotchi pets.
