Author Topic: Tamagotchi Ocean/Umino Tamagotch Differences  (Read 1467 times)

Last Friday I hatched my new blue with bubbles Tamagotchi Ocean. This is my first run with a US Ocean, and so far I have noticed a couple of differences. The first difference I noticed was right away - the egg. On Umino Tamagotch, the egg is white like the one below:

But on Tamagotchi Ocean US, the egg is black like the one below:

The next difference I noticed was foods. On Umino Tamagotch, it would seem that your character eats some sort of food on a stick. But on Tamagotchi Ocean it eats a peice of sea-weed. Both versions eat the same snack, which is an ice-cream cone.

When I began my US Ocean first, I noticed it was just as needy as Umino. Smiley It's one hard Tamagotchi to care for, but I must say I'm getting used to it, and I love it!

I wanted to post this here because I thought others might have stuff to add! Cheesy

Most of the fish eggs are blond colored, and not see-thru like in Finding Nemo.

The US version egg tries to represent caviar/roe, I think.

That food pieces in a stick meal is japanese thing, American kids might understand it as a snack (marshmallows in a stick?). All the Tamagotchis have been more or less "westernized" in US releases, and these little details are result of that. Of course American Tamagotchi eats seaweed and not some unfamiliar asian food in stick Tongue

There's also the secret character. While the Umino has a mermaid, we don't know what the Ocean has. I mean, if Bandai changed secret characters on the P1, P2, and Angel, I doubt the Ocean would be an exception.

Does anybody know how to get the secret character on the Umino?

I think I remember seeing Taiyakitchi at the top of an Umino growth chart.

Maybe the things on the stick is a satay? I haven't seen one, but I sure love satays Wink

Taiyakitchi! That's it! It is top of the Ocean chart, but KeroPyontchi is at the top of the Umi one.
