I have an Entama and an Entama CYOI. I wanted to mate the tamagotchis in those two and when I tried to make them play games to raise their closeness, it wouldn't work. I tried some other options and my CYOI reset! Ugh! I have no idea how that happened. Is this supposed to happen or can you not mate the normal entamas with entama CYOI?

Well, I've heard that when the batteries are really low and you try to connect, the Load/Reset screen will appear. Now, I hope your computer can view Japanese characters on this forum correctly because here's what the words Load and Reset look like:

 ろーど- Load
りせっと- Reset

Now, I'll read (or rather, look and guess) the Entama and Entama CYOI instructions on Tamatalk and try and figure it out.

Hmm... both the original Entama and CYOI Entama have the same options on the connection menu. And according to the manuals the only Japanese Tamagotchi released before the CYOI Entama that can't connect to the CYOI Entama is the original Tamagotchi Plus (Kaettekita! Tamagotchi Plus). The connection instructions appear to be the same on both manuals.

I suggest you replace the battery on your Entama CYOI. The battery an Entama CYOI needs is one CR 2032 3V battery.

I think a CYOI Entama is just a slightly different Entama... just different games and design really.
