I got a lot out of this topic. Smiley I think that I'm beginning to get back into my old routine again, I kinda had to force myself. There were days this past month wherein I almost fell asleep during class. Roll Eyes Hehehe.

I just need to set times and stick with them. It's those first days that are the absolute worst ones. [/size]

That really is true. First going off I found it really hard going to bed when I really wasn't tired. I just lay in bed with my eyes open the first night for about an hour, and finally fell asleep. Don't worry, it will get easier.

And it is now 10:13pm my time, so I should be getting off to sleep now myself. Hehe

I think there is like 4-5 cycles of sleep and the one right before REM sleep is the one that is most refreshing, I believe.

I wonder if that could be the reason I feel better after sleeping 1-2 hours instead of 7-8 hours....?

Bojko: Now that sounds a whole lot like my old job schedule. I used to work crazy hours, not sleep much at all and then crash on the weekend. It's great to know I'm not the only one who needs naps (though I don't like myself when I nap so much).  I appreciate the good wishes and you know you remind me that my coffee machine does have a timer on it, I should make use of it and try some new routine ^.^

Oh, but you should embrace napping, and not feel bad about sneaking in one (or more) in.

Let me share with you the words of a modern day idler, Tom Hodgkinson:

"I count it as absolute certainty, that in paradise, everyone naps. It splits the day into two halves, making each half more manageable and enjoyable. If you know there is a nap to come later in the day, then you can banish forever that terrible sense of doom one feels at 9am.... It is a terrible state of affairs when we have become ashamed of napping.

We have learnt one important lesson: don't fight the nap. The only downside is that many people have a tendency to wake from their nap in a grumpy mood... there is a simple remedy for this grumpiness, and it's to take tea."

Green tea works good for me after a nap, it's so natural and soothing. ^__^

TL: Sounds like your schedule is way crazier then mine. See and right now I don't have a steady job, so that might be part of the insanity that has me out of a routine. And of course not having a job is worrysome enough to keep me from not sleeping.  I used to rely on energy drinks at one of my jobs too, until one of my coworkers told me that his heart beats out of control when he drinks them.. scared me enough to put me back on coffee. Paranoia I am sure hehe. ^.^

Surprisingly I was worse before my job, and now as long as I get 7-9 hours I'm good to go. I would agree about the stressing at night about not having a job, I did the same thing. Sometimes I really worried if I would ever get a steady job. Now that I do, that part of my stress is gone lol.

I just like my energy drinks since they keep me perky, especially in the afternoon lol. Sounds like your friend with the fast heartbeat is caffeine sensitive and he gets just enough for him in his coffee. Only thing close to coffee I will drink is a Tim Horton's Ice Cap and the once in a blue moon tea so for now I will enjoy my Full Throttle drink *raises glass* As long as one spreads out when they drink these things and don't go over 2 a day, they'll help Cheesy
