I just won this off ebay for $12.00. It looks sorta like the old, original digimon pets, but not too much, but since it is by Bandai I went with it, knowing it wouldn't just be some cheapy knockoff. I assume from the monsters on the package, that those are the different things you can raise, and also from the belt clip that perhaps it has a pace-counter thingy in it that collects points or whatever. The only thing in english on the package is "YOKAIZER," and I googled "bandai yokaizer" and just "yokaizer" and got no results. Anyone know what this is related to? I guess when I have it in about a week or two I'll know more about it, but I still won't know what it's based on (like, a tv show? anime?).

My hypothesis on this is it's a type of pedometer pet that counts your steps as you walk. Reason for this guess is the clip thing in the back, which you normally see on pedometer pets so you can put them on your belt and they count as you walk. It makes sense to me.

Let me know when you get it if I'm right on this one Smiley

All I could find on Google was this page, which tells us mostly what we already know: It's a pedometer, and it connects to other Yokaizer.

The logging possibilities are endless! =D

Thanks very much, Priestess of Syrinx!!! That pretty much explains everything! So it is an anime ("Yokaizer is a Japanse anime like Pikachu etc.") and the characters are referred to also as "Ghost Kids." What's confusing me and really piqued my interest is that they say it reacts to microwaves, "like the Tamagotchi Wave UFO!?" I didn't know there were ANY virtual pets that reacted to microwaves! I have no clue what that means or how it works...I guess I'm gonna have to do some experimenting. Wow!

how did you search for it on ebay?

The auction itself was called "Tamagotchi Tamagotch Toy Friend Cyber Pet Game" I think I had simply searched for "tamagotch," since leaving off the "i" usually returns results of Japan-only stuff rather than tons and tons of American units.

I KNOW I saw another one as Buy-It-Now for $11.99, and I was gonna put the link to it here in case anyone else was interested in getting one, but when I went back to get the link, for the life of me I cannot find it! Possibly in the few hours in between when I saw it and now, someone DID buy it now, and it's simply gone.  Cry If I come across another one, I'll post the link. Interestingly, the plastic of the one I bought looks like it glows in the dark; I sure hope that's the case! I LOVE stuff that glows in the dark!

I think the Microwave one is only Denpa Yokaizer Wave, which was the blue one below the other Yokaizer on that page.

Here is some information about the Wave UFO pet they were comparing the second Yokaizer to.

Here is another page that has some information about the Yôkaizer;

Pixelated's Yôkaizer page

It looks like the creatures you catch/collect in the VP's game are called "yôkai kids" (spirit kids or demon kids)

Here is a list of the Yôkai Kids catchable in the Yôkaizer VP;

Spirit Kids

Name "Youkaizer/Yôkaizer" is somewhat familiar but I haven't found any information of the actual anime/animation show where this VP bases.

Yôkaizer looks like to be one of the who-knows-how-many "monster catch" animes/VPs that were released in Japan around the 1997/1998 monster mania that was started by Pokémon.
