Author Topic: FamiTama Preorder Status  (Read 8943 times)

As many people's signatures are stating, it's been two days since the FamiTama was officially released. I'm sure there was much madness in Japanese toy stores with people and resellers trying to grab them up. But what about us in the rest of the world, who have placed our preorders through YesAsia.com (see link in sidebar)?

I checked my order status on YesAsia.com to see if it had shipped or what. It is currently showing the status as "searching from suppliers". I think this means that I placed my preorder too late, and YesAsia's ordered stock has already been used up by everyone on the list before me. They are trying to source more from Bandai so that they can fulfill my preorder. I believe Fry and I were the first TSS members to place our preorders, so I expect that everyone else's order status will be the same. Please log in to your account at YesAsia.com and check it out so we can try to figure out what's going on.

I hope YesAsia succeeds in acquiring more FamiTamas so that they can eventually ship us our coveted Tamagotchis!

My status reads the same as yours, Elana. I sent them an email that looks like this:

Hello, I have a few questions:
-When do you think the approximate time will be when I receive this item (I pre-ordered it 10/04/07 and it came out on 11/23/07)?
-Under the order details heading, it says "Searching for Suppliers." Does this mean that it is on a type of back-order and I will have to wait longer to get it?
-When it will be back in stock (if I am correct about the back-order status), how long will the expected shipping time be, approximately?

Thank you for all your help,
Anna

I'll let you guys know if and when I get a response =)

I'd just like to add that mine says the same thing, and I don't expect to receive mine any time soon..I chose the super saver shipping...lol so I'll probably get it in like a year. But oh well, I'm okay with that.  I have plenty of tamagotchis to keep me occupied for the time being. Smiley

So, about that email I sent earlier today. I was a little worried when I got the usual robot reply about what my order was and the details of it, but a few minutes ago I checked my email again and I got a reply! It went like this:

Dear Anna,

Thank you for shopping at YesAsia.com!

With regard to your order -------, the item you have ordered has been released on 23rd Novemeber, and according to the product information page, the availability of the item is "Usually ships within 30 days". We have already placed your order with our supplier and they will send in the item soon. Once we have the item available, we will ship you the order immediately.

Since you have chosen Super Saver as your shipping method, it will normally take 5-9 business days to arrive at your side after the order has been shipped from our Hong Kong warehouse. Please note that we will send you an notification once we ship your order.
Once again, thank you very much for your continued support of YesAsia.com.

Not a problem, Fry! I'm giving them a max of 2-3 more weeks. Poor Alex might have to hatch his earlier... I don't know if I would be able to wait that long, honestly. =p

I know I wouldn't be able to wait that long, like I said in my log a few weeks ago, I'll probably have it open and started before I get back inside from getting it out of my mailbox.Haha.  Smiley

-Back on topic- I too have an email that says the expected ship out date is November 25th, so maybe by tomorrow something will change on the "tracking order" thing on YesAsia.
If anything changes on my side I'll be sure to let you guys know.

I just got another email. They've extended the shipping date to November 29th for me. Guys, let me know if y'all get the same email!

Dear Anna,

For order -------, we are sorry to tell you that the expected ship date for Tamagotchi : Yeah! Family Iroiro! Tamagotchi + Pet Family-chi Pet has been extended to Nov/29/2007 due to a change in the manufacturer's production schedule.

As you may know, many Japanese toy and hobby products are produced in small lots, and manufacturer schedules are often uncertain. Because of this, when a retailer has sold out of inventory, it often takes some time before product replenishment is possible. YesAsia.com works within this framework to the best of our efforts to provide the widest range of Japanese products possible, but sometimes delays are unavoidable.

We hope that you will keep your order with us, and we will ship the product as soon as it becomes available.

Yours sincerely,
Customer Service Department
Yesasia.com Ltd.

I'm a little upset... this would mean that the latest possible date for me would be... the 12th of December... the earliest date being the 6th.... Bah humbug!

I was just about to post and say that I had gotten an email.
Mine is pretty much the same as yours except mine says they have delayed it to the 30th, which doesn't make sense considering I pre-ordered mine a little earlier than you did.
This is not the "change" I was hoping for.  Sad
