Is it safe to tell my age on these forums? I'm a minor, see, so I have to be careful. I don't have any particular suspisions about anyone, I just want to be safe.
P.S.  I am wise beyond my years.

This is a complex question! Here is my opinion on it.

The members of TSS are generally very good, trustworthy people. There are members of all ages, from ten and up. Not only is it safe to tell the members of TSS, but it's probably advisable to tell us, so that we can understand you better and help you better.

Now, on the other hand, these forums are available to be read by anyone with Internet access. The entire Internet can read anything you post here. So if you are not 100% comfortable with writing something here, don't!

The important things to keep secret are things like your full name, your address, credit card numbers, social insurance numbers, contact information, and stuff like that. Your age will not reveal your identity on the Internet. Just make sure that you don't give away any of that other information. But again, there are a lot of weird people on the Internet, and sometimes it's best to reveal as little about yourself as possible.

My suggestion is: it's okay to put your age in your profile, because only members of TSS can view your profile. You can also tell your friends on TSS privately, using private messages or in the chatroom. There's no need for you to write it on the boards.

The best rule to follow is, ask your parents whenever you are unsure about anything. They will know what is safe for you.

PS, next time why don't you use a title that is more specific when you start a thread? It is more helpful to make the title "is it safe to reveal my age here?" rather than trailing off with, "is it absolutely safe to..." People looking at the front page won't know what you're talking about, and if they're looking for this thread, the name is not descriptive enough. It's not helpful to trail off like that without revealing the most important part of the name!
