Tamagotchi Restaurant!

I saw it on another site, so of course as usual I felt the need to bring it over here! I don't know much about it, but it seems that you can open up what looks like a building to see a Mametchi, Memetchi, and Kuchipatchi cooking! The top of the building stays connected, and a screen is on the bottom of it, where I assume you can see all the animations of what is going on.

This whole page is in Japanese, so I can't understand it, of course. But here is the link. There is also a link to a video of what it is (that is the direct link to the video. It opened up in Media Player for me). Naturally the video is all in Japanese, but they demonstrate some things so it's almost like sign language... I got the jist of it.

From the beginning, what it seems to be is a restaurant building that opens up. The top is flipped back, and on the underside of the top is a screen where you can see all the animations take place. There are three main characters there, all dressed up as chefs (Kuchi, Mame, and Meme for short), a pot in front of them, different pressable ingredients in the front row that must be the table/workspace, a phone in the back right, and a cash register in the back left.

A tama can call up the place for a pickup order it looks like, and then you cook it for them! On the main picture in the first link, you can see a Mame cooking something. While they are cooking, you can press those different ingredients, and they will add them to the recipe! From what I see, Mame, Meme, and Kuchi cook different foods.

Three quarters down the screen, I think it shows a Furawatchi demonstrating how the process works.

You come inside and think about the menu
You come up to the chef and order
You decide on a topping or toppings/seasonings
You receive your order
And make sure to pay for it!

Another way to go about it is demonstrated by the Mametchi next to it:

You call up the restaurant for a pickup order
They cook up your order
You drive over there to go pick it up
And then pay!

Could it also be that these restaurants can also come with settings?! From those next pictures, it looks like you can get different places for it, maybe kits or something (?) and you can put the restaurant in different areas of tamatown! Maybe these different areas can have their own different specialties...

The measurements at the bottom say that it is 14cm (about 5.5in) wide in diameter and 15cm (about 5.9 or 6in) tall. It's not that big, but it's not that small either. From what I read about it, it is listed at 5775 yen. Thank goodness they converted it for me on the site, cos I would have never known! They said it was about $57.80. That's a huge amount ... maybe I'll just wait until the hype dies down.

Personally, I think this idea is adorable. I don't know if it has come out yet though. I'm not so much a fan of Bandai having their tamagotchi become less care and more point-oriented, but I love the idea of a dressed up Kuchi chef cooking some food for me. I'll have the steak, please! Of course, at that price, I'll really be taking a digger.
