I've been lucky enough to have a DigiMon since March, when I picked up a brown/black version 1 on ebay. I've always enjoyed this Tama, but I don't fully understand it.

I find that I always get the best or the worst character. For example, I began my DigiMon a little over a week ago, and like always, after getting the good teen character, I got Greymon, the healthiest adult. If I get the unhealthy teen, I always get the worst character, Numemon. My question is how is it that you can get other characters in the middle? What always helps me in getting new characters is fiddling with how much disicipline I give a Tama, but you can't discipline a DigiMon - that option is un-available on this Tama.

If anyone has any answers or tips, I'd much apprechiate it! Cheesy Thanks everyone!

Ohhhh!! I love DigiMon! Love, love, looooooooooooove!

This tamagotchi is based on overfeeding, training, calls and sleep disturbances- very confussing
yet so simple.

Here's a description:
General
The counters are reset when the Digimon evolves. So, for example, nothing that happens to the newly hatched Digimon affects growth at all.
The requirements for Perfect Digimon are unknown at this time. Some battles are necessary.

Calls / Care Mistakes
For food and strength calls: When its hunger hearts run out, the call icon lights up. If you don't feed it for 20 minutes, it goes out again, and that's a care mistake. The same for strength. However, if BOTH hunger and strength run out, it's still only one care mistake. And if you leave it for a few hours before feeding it, and it bleeps again a few times, then even then it's only one care mistake.
Lights calls are straightforward - leaving the lights on for 20 minutes after it falls asleep is a care mistake.
Accumulating up to 4 piles of poop has no effect at all. (Larger quantities are unknown.)

Training
Version 1: A training session is counted whether or not you complete all 5 rounds. It's counted if you win, if you lose, or even if you cancel in the middle. (Where there's an upper limit on the training requirement, be careful of this.)
Versions 2-5: Only successful training is counted for evolution.

Overfeeding
To overfeed, stuff the Digimon with food until it won't eat any more. It is necessary to wait until it loses a hunger heart before overfeeding it again.

Sleep Disturbances
Wake the Digimon up by going into the Food menu, training it, or selecting the Battle option.
If you want to wake it, without this being counted as a wakeup, then set the clock to some time during the day. The Digimon will wake up, with no effect on the counters.

So, to get a Devimon from Agumon you'd have to make 0 to 3 care mistakes and 0-31 Training. That's usually bad care.
However, from a Betamon the care suddenly changes: 0 -3 calls, 48 or more, not less, training.
So, a resume:
DeviMon.
AguMon- 0-3 Calls, Train 0-31.
BetaMon- 0-3 Calls, Train 48+.

MeraMon.
Agumon- 4+ Calls, Train 16+, Overfeed 3+, 0-6 Sleep Disturbances.
Betamon- 0-3 Calls, Train 0-47.

AirdraMon.
Betamon- 4+ Calls, Train 8-31, Overfeed 0-3, 9+ Sleep Disturbances.

SedraMon.
Betamon- 4+ Calls, Train 8-31, Overfeed 4+, 0-8 Sleep Disturbance.

TyranoMon.
Agumon- 4+ calls, Train 5-15, Overfeed 3+, 0-4 Sleep Disturbances.

GreyMon.
Agumon- 0-3 Calls, Train 32+.

NuneMon.
Agumon/Betamon- Horrible, horrible care.

Then there's the "secret" characters/Perfect Leveled Digimon. I've no 100% way to get 'em, only guesses.
I've gotten some through bad care myself, and some with excellent care. It's easy to get 'em tho.

MetalGreyMon.
Greymon/Devimon/Airdramon- Fight 15+ battles with a victory ratio 80% or more.

MameMon.
Tyranomon/Meramon/Seadramon- Fight 15+ battles with a victory ratio 80% or more.

MonzaeMon.
Numemon- Fight 15+ battles with a victory ratio 80% or more.

Phew... Hope that helps! Cheesy

Edited: Btw, AguMon being the "healthy" child/teen while BetaMon is the "unheatlhy" one.

Thanks so much for this Seraphim! Cheesy This is really going to help me once I raise my next DigiMon, after my current Greymon departs back to mainframe.

I knew that there had to be an explanation out there like yours, it just took a while for me to find it, hehe.

Thanks again buddy! Cheesy

Very very nice, Alex! Kudos, for sure! I don't have a Digimon (yet), but I have always wanted one. I'll be referring to this guide once I do get one, though!
