I was wandering about the member titles we have here on TSS. I think that users that have been here a while should get an upgrade from newbie a bit sooner than 150 posts. There are a lot of people here that register just to post one question and then are never to be seen again, so my suggestion is that there should be some title in between newbie and jr. member like after 10 or 20 posts just to clarify who are actually active users.

Hehe, like it could start out with "Lurker" and then go to "Newbie." Just a thought to add to a thought

Tell ya the truth it used to be 100 posts, but we had a member join and rack up more then 60 posts in one day so we decided on a board like this that it's possible for someone to bypass the first stage within a couple of days, so we upped the numbers from their original default setting. Considering how Tamagotchi has stood the test of time, we figured that some folks would be here for possibly years and we wanted a slower progress of the title change to match the expected lifespan of the board (or should I say at the time we "hoped" things would be successful hehe).

Instead of dilja's suggestion, I have gone with acidiica's - both solutions get the same point across, while keeping in tact my initial reasoning for the numbers set when this whole thing was started.

All folks who have posted 10 posts or less now have Lurker associated as a title, those who have 11-149 are in the newbie status.. and so on. There are no stars for Lurker status.

And in case you are interested the numbers - they right now read:

Lurker: 582
Newbie: 64
Jr Member: 11
Full Member: 5
Sr Member: 3
Hero Member: 0

582 members of 665 have post less than 10 posts?

So we have 83 more or less active members.

That's quite a nice number for a board this size.

I have further broken down this list of titles.

People with 0 posts are now with the title "New Signups". This is the default title when someone joins the forum but hasn't posted yet. This is to separate those that haven't posted at all from those that have posted something.

Users with a post count between 1-10 are Lurkers and so on (nothing further changed).
