I was able to communicate with Nik via AIM on his mobile phone today. As you all probably know, he was part of the evacuation going on in southern California due to the forest fires (news article, his log post).

He wants everyone to know that he and his family are alright. They're currently safe in a motel, although they did have to spend last night in their car in a parking lot because all the motels were full. They believe their home is safe from the fire, but they may not return until the authorities give the go-ahead, and they don't know when that will happen. For now, he has a Marutchi at hand that is giving him a lot of moral support.

I passed along everyone's positive wishes and he was very grateful to hear it.

I know a lot of us have already written well-wishes in his log, but if you'd like to add yours, we can have them all in one place here so that he'll have something wonderful to come back to when he regains Internet access.

TSS is made of rock, it can't burn in any fire! Nik, you can count on this rock to be here for you as soon as you can get here.

How did this travesty happen? It seems the only thing in all this to be glad of are A: Nik's okay. (and anyone else who made it out) B: His Tamas are also. (Let's not forget his family) and C: We're always going to be here wishing the best and waiting for him to get back. Wishing him, his tamas, his family, and anyone else I'm lacking to mention the best of luck in all this coming from me, my tamas, and all of TSS. Good luck, guys!

Nik, I'm glad to hear you and your family and your tamagotchi are alright. This has been on the news almost all day long today and there wasn't much for encouragement. I hope your tamas and your family help keep you strong throughout all this.
