This morning at 10:45 AM, Ermo the Ojitchi passed away.
He was 45 years old, and the 44th in a long legacy on Blue V2.
On August 7th, 2007, a Kuchipatchi and a Kiwitchi shut off the lights and created two beautiful baby boys. One of those boys was Ermo.
He lived a full life - a principled life. As a young Flowertchi, he met the love of his life: an exotic young Kuchipatchi named Mii-chan. Their love was full and pure, but one thing stood in their way: Mii-chan lived in a Keitai Tamagotchi, and Ermo lived in a North American Connection V2. These two units could meet, play, and fall in love - but never mate.
Ermo locked his door and wouldn't let the Matchmaker in. Mii-chan was the only woman for him. But Mii-chan was young and full of dreams. The Matchmaker brought her a Dorotchi one day, and Mii-chan closed her eyes and prayed that Ermo would forgive her...
Ermo was heartbroken. The following day, he aged right before my eyes - and became an Ojitchi! If he couldn't have Mii-chan, he would have no one at all.
He lived out the rest of his days in solitude. He enjoyed many cups of tea - his only pleasure in life. He especially enjoyed early mornings alone, while all the other Tamagotchis were asleep.
This morning, he was sitting on my windowsill, and my blinds were slightly drawn to let the dawn in. He was awake before everyone else, as usual. Basking in the morning light, he soaked up every last moment. He said hello to all the other Tamagotchis as they woke up in later hours: a Kabutchi with her son, a Kuchipatchi in a Keitai that he'd just met, and another Kuchipatchi boy in the Keitai shell he knew so well - the last home of his dearest love. That Kuchipatchi was the great, great grandson of his beloved Mii-chan. He had seen so many generations go by, but the heartache was still fresh.
A newcomer, a Zukitchi in a blue P2, still slumbered as he watched.
And in the lone V1, he witnessed a baby boy waking up alone for the first time, gasping and letting the tears flow. That baby boy is the seventh generation grandson of Ermo's own twin brother, Cren, who had left him on August 17.
Ermo whispered his best wishes and prayers to the child.
And then... he felt himself become lighter than air... and float off to Tama Planet.
Goodbye Ermo... you were loved, and you will be missed.
