maybe Elana can provide some insight since she has a keitai and knows what the screen looks like in those.
Neither of my Keitais have that screen background. They both have balloons.

But that doesn't mean that this isn't a Keitai.
I think the two distinctive morphological traits are the antenna and the lobster claw for the hang-tag. That antenna is definitely a Keitai/Akai/V3 type, because the Entama and V4 has a little ball on the end of the antenna, and the Uratama and V4.5 have the star.
So of Keitai, Akai and V3, I don't believe it can be a North American V3, because all the North American V3s say "Tamagotchi Connection" on the top and have a keyring instead of a hang tag.
And Seraphim says that European Connections always have the ball-chain.
So this is either a Keitai, an Akai, or an Asian V3. The V2 I bought from Hong Kong has a hang tag instead of a keyring or ball chain, and has nothing printed on the top. The Australian V3s have hang-tags but are printed with "Tamagotchi Connection" on the top, so if it's a non-Japanese Tama, it has to be Asian.
Unfortunately it's very difficult to get a complete listing of Asian colours of any Tamagotchi type. I still haven't found a picture of my Hong Kong V2 anywhere.

But I looked up listings of Keitai and Akai colours, and that colour wasn't found anywhere. So I'm going to guess it's an Asian V3. So the menus should be in English. My Hong Kong V2 has all English on the inside, and the instruction booklets were in English and Chinese. The only difference between it and my North American V2 is the shell colour and the hang tag. (I bought it for the hang tag - I thought it was way cooler than the keyring.
