So, welcome to my so called "Log". Hi!
Off-topic. Yes, I be new here but certinally not to Tamagotchies, lol. Seriously. T's old school. Off-topic.

I got this well-longing Tamagotchi Angel, US version, two days ago and I'm completely and totally in love with the little bewinged dude in it. My collection is far from being completed though. *cries*
Most of you'll probably go something like: "WTH OMG WAI TAMA-ANGEL 'N' NOT ANGELGOTCHI?!"
It's simple: I'm no japanese wannabe, nor really care if the Japanese version got a cooler secret char. Beside, I'd like to be able to actually READ the instructions and such, tho it's not hard to understand in japanese either. Lol.

Oh, and btw. I'm a 19 years old dude!
I like to point that out 'cause ppl around here, Sweden, can't believe their eyes and ears as soon as I pull out one of my Gotchies in crowded places.
To be into gotchies you're either:
1. A 8-year-old girl
2. A totally immature girl.
3. Or homosexual if you're the male gender.
I've gotten used to it after all these years. It's not bothering me anymore and it shouldn't bother anyone else, either. Dudes confident enough to carry around on a Tamagotchi should be praised. ;]

Off-topic. I've been looking for a Gotchi-Log place, since I refuse to write it down on a sheet of papper or diary, and TamaTown's Log section seem to be a little bit dead- and girls only. No offence to the opposite sex! Off-topic.

Gotchies running:
Gen1- Purple/Pink.
Gen2- White/Blue.
Angel- Gold.
Connextion V4- Pink/Red.
Comment: Go me! Girly colored ones. *Laugh*

Anyhow, back to my little feathery friend here.

08/10/2007- Day 3.
He's actually only 2 yrs old, he'll turn 3 around 8 pm.
I'm baffed. He's needyless! Every 2 hours or so his "Effort" heart drops down by one. C'mon- ONE!
And so does his Hunger hearts, too.
Is that normal, I wonder. Though I shouldn't complain.
My most runned Gotchi where the Ocean one. I'm used to keep an eye on my little pal and react on every little beep he'd throw at me. But this one doesn't even beep. He did once though, yesterday around 9am.
And do they ever poo-poo? I've only seen him do so once. No wonder though, he rarely eats.
He, Milk- corny name indeed, is only in the Toddler stage, too. I guess my Ocean gotchi got me on the guard.
Independat!
His AP is at 5. Don't know what I'm doing wrong, either.
I'll get it eventually. I hope.
And btw, I hope he'll get a little more needy, too. Heck, I wish he'll beep every 5 mins or so, too!
That's all for today.

Feel free to comment and give some feedback!
Seraphim.

Well, let me be the first to formally welcome you! I'm Anna, and I'm sure you'll have an amazing time here. We're definitely a wide-ranged group, with both guys and girls. Heh, the more older people come into this group, the younger I end up feeling (I'm 18), but it's all good! I'm happy you're proud of your tamagotchis. Good for you. I hope you'll stay a long while.

I know exactly what you mean about the 8 year old girls being the norm for Tamagotchi ownership. It's pretty much the same here in America. People give me a hard time about them too, but all out of good fun.

I'm really enjoying the log. You have a good way with words and it looks very well organized. I wish I could stand to be that organized.... but I usually crash and burn.

His AP is at 5. Don't know what I'm doing wrong, either.
I'll get it eventually. I hope.

Well, if Angel Power is the same in the Tamagotchi Angel as it is in the japanese version, then you should feed snacks to it to raise the level. There's a lot of good information about the Tamagotchi Angel on Mimitchi's Angelgotchi Alley (link). Be careful though; occasionally when you are feeding your Angel snacks, a bat will try and steal the food away! To get it away, just tap the screen or side of the tama and it should fly away.

I hope you stay for a long while, and welcome again!

Hey, thanks for the welcome. Grin
Glad I made you feel younger!
Thanks for the comments, too. *Blush*

I'm Alexander by the way.

I've been into Gotchis since the absolute beginning since I've always wanted a pet as a child but never got one.
Tamagotchi where the perfect solution. Anyhow, I don't know how but I threw aside my gotchi one year later, around '98-'99.
Then one day in '01 I found my beloved pal, purple/pink Gen1 (he's actually running atm), on my bookself and I've been hooked ever since.

I didn't even know about the Connection versions 'till 2005, when the V2 was released over here in Sweden.
I saw a little kid with one downtown and I remember how odd it seemed. At first I thought it where fake but then one hour later I saw another kid with one. I couldn't stop staring.
I decided to ask the kid but all the info he could give where "It's a TAMAGOTCHI!".
Long story short: I google'd it up and there they where: V1 and V2!
I tried to get my hands on the V1 but they stopped shipping 'em over to Sweden so I just bought the V2. And some months later the V3, and then the V4 and now the V4.5.
It's a waste of money to buy a V1 off of ebay, so I've just accepted the fact that I've almost the complete Connextion set.

I'm mostly into the "Old Skool" Tamagotchies.
My absolute favorites are the Forest/Garden, Ocean and my very first one ever- Gen1.

The "improved" gotchies (from '04 and onward) feels less Pet-like and more Human-like.
TamaSchool for instance, I regret even spending money on it. A Gotchi school?
Seriously, BanDai is running out of ideas and clues on how to improve their Tamagotchies.
And gotchies with jobs is just plain wrong. Pets don't work but that's my own opinion.

I wish they'd stop fool around with Tama's giving 'em jobs, love-life and what not and just re-realse, with or without improvment, the old ones:
Tamagotchi Gen1 and Gen2 - A Two in One perhaps?
Tamagotchi Ocean - Added/More characters and games!
Tamagotchi Garden/Forest - Remove the ScreenSaver and add new bugs(aka chars) <3!
Devilgotchi - Dunno..
Tamagotchi Angel - Make 'em more demanding! D;
And somehow make all of 'em being able to connect to each other.

But seeing how unpopular Tamagotchi has become in Japan these days I doubt it'll ever happen.

Hmm.. I type too much.
Anyhow, that's all- for now.

Thanks a lot! (Forgot to thank you in the last reply)
Keep at it and you'll do great. I know you will. ;]
I had a hard time with logs and such, but as a veterinary surgeon student I've got to write loads so I've gotten pretty used to it by now.
I think I tend to "over-write" things, too. XD

Thanks for the help.
It's complex yet so simple.
Tapping the screen where kind of fun, and the bats are just annoying.
They're appearing each time I feed Milk a candy.

Actually, if you head on over to this thread, K-State-Fry has actually discovered a new type coming out soon in Japan, and we all tried to get some good information on it. I think we succeeded in uncovering quite a bit! I know you said something about not preferring the Japanese versions, but there is a new type coming out in November that some of us have already pre-ordered. The concept of it is actually really interesting, and very cute, even. I'm hoping it will come out in America, but I love Japanese tamas as well (I love how the written language looks ), so I pre-ordered mine.

Welcome to the boards, your log looks good.
It's so funny to look at people's faces when they see you have a tama. Here in Iceland noone has seen one since '97 since noone sells the new ones here. I found my first connection in London in 2005 and have ordered all kinds of stuff over ebay since then Smiley

I agree that the angels are a little too easy, where's the challenge?

I'm really diggin the logs Alex! I know exactly how you feel about the whole public tamagotchi display thing.  I'm a sixteen year old male, and I get many odd looks and things, but usually my friends just tease me about them in a joking manner.  I don't mind though, I like them and I'm not going to stop playing with them just because people think it's weird.  I think it's a good thing to be weird..If no one was weird in the world, it would be very boring. Tongue

I understand what you mean about the new tamagotchis.  I very much like them, but for some reason they seem like they don't have the charm that the old tamagotchis have.  When I pick up an old tama, I instantly have memories of my childhood and such and all the characters are so loveable.  But the new ones seem like they aren't even tamagotchis, like what you said they have jobs and love lives, etc.  I like the idea, and it makes it more fun, but it's almost like caring for a human.  Odd.

I only thought it was a little peculiar that you bought a US Angel because it is pretty much the same as the Japanese Angelgotch, but the angelgotch is usually cheaper on ebay in price.  Luckily I bought a US Tamagotchi Angel when I was younger so I don't have to buy it off of ebay, but I still got the Angelgotch and I find it quite nice.  Once you play and experiment with a Japanese tamagotchi they aren't confusing at all.

Welcome to the boards, by the way.  Looking forward to seeing your posts. Tongue

Hey and thanks Madcow and dilja! *bows*

I've had a stressfull day so don't mind me if I mix up a few things here and there...

First off: Tamagotchi Familiwhatever?!
True, I don't like the new gotchies but I read that you could raise 3-5 gotchies at once! or something along those lines.
That sounds exciting.
I actually started to jump up and down out of joy- very much like a kid. Lol.
I'll pre-order one from the extremely lovely site called YesAsia.com. (Lots of love <3)
BanDai may have finally taken the right turn here.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see, don't we.

And I thought this day'd stay rotten and meaningless. *Raise his fist in anger*
I hate one of my teachers atm. ;(

Nevertheless these news and your comments cheered me up. Grin
Ok, back to the Log.

9/10/2007 Day 4.
I feel like dancing: My Tama, Milk btw, has beeped twice!
*Snivle* He've finally understood the meaning of the word "needy".
Yeah, so this morning, while I where on the bus on my way to the university, there where this little girl (10 years old- max.!) who noticed my "Angelgotchi". Suddently I found her sitting beside me starring with big loving eyes on it.
"- Aww, your tamagotchi is beautiful!! Want to connect it with mine?" And she had a huge smile on her face.
I didn't want to ruin the moment for her but I had to explain that my Angel couldn't connect to/with other Tamagotchies.
Fortunately I had my ->Paused<- V4.5 with me, she was really happy to find a new "Tamagotchi friend".
I, on the other hand, felt like a complete moron, but I wouldn't want to burst her bubble. I love kids. I where one, too.

Anyhow. Milk started to beep for attention during my Medicine class. Which weren't expected.
My teacher teased me with a nasty, yet friendly comment:
"-As soon as Alexander's nursed his v-pet back to health, or whatever you do, we could continue."
I gotta love Miss Jacobs for being understanding.
His Hunger and Happiness meters/bars where full during the rest of class.

After univ. I want straight to the gym to work out. I do so every day (If anyone's intrested in that, which I doubt strongly).
To my suprise I saw a three legged mosquito-look-alike flying around on the screen. He evolved into a Takoten!
That put me out of my sweaty misery. So did the hot shower.
Since the gym's downtown I decided to stay and just chill with some couple of friends.
One of 'em suggested we'd check if our local toy store got some new cool V4.5 designs.
And what do you know?!
I was about to die.
There it was, the perfect Tamagotchi shell-decor:
See-through Yellow, with Light Green buttons(ew), a Green star (ew again!), Dark Green "Tamagotchi" text under the IR(ew yet again!) and.. and.. a Kutchipatchi logo on the left corner!
It felt like I died and gone to heaven. I just had to have it, and I did. I bought it even though my Angelgotchi swallowed half of my money. XD
I wish I had a picture, but my cam is broken at the moment.
I tried to google it up but there's none. Maybe it's a Sweden-exclusive only Tama?
We had a Blue and Yellow, representing the Swedish flag, exclusive V3 last year, who knows.

Anyhow, I'm off-topic a lot today, aren't I.
On my way home I noticed that Milk had a empy Hunger heart, and that he made a mess.
Usually that wouldn't make me happy but seeing how rare it is on Angelgotchi I was really glad.
I'm starting to feel as if Angelgotchi should be running when you got like 5, or more, Tamagotchies running 'cause it rarely need anything. Or with Ocean.
The fear of neglecting it just ain't there. Even if, the unhealty characters are way cuter than the healty characters.
I'm starting to think of it more of an accessory than a V-Pet. *Laughs*
Don't get me wrong, I like it. It's just that I'm not used to it yet, that's all.
Beside, Tamagotchi Ocean really got me on my toes the last 3 and a half years.
I guess Angelgotchi is my teraphy. XD
That's all the Log-ing for today. ;]

Off-topic.
Woho, victory dance!
My "Tamagotchi Odenkun" has finally arrived. I cant' wait 'till I start it up, but I've to wait 'till Saturday 'cause I'll be kind of busy with homework and such.
I love the "You knock on a Jumping door" Tamagotchi. I hope this one's as good as it is.
Anyone else got one?

Seraphim.

Awesome log! One question: how do you carry around your Tamagotchis? I ask because you mention that a little girl saw them when you were on the bus. Did she see it because you had pulled it out to check on it, or do you hold them in your hands, or do you wear them somewhere visible?

Mine are always inside my purse, so I am Tama-incognito when in public. Cool

First off: Thanks!
Well, they're usually in my stylish "one-shoulder" school bag but this one time I where holding onto, playing that shooting star game, my Angelgotchi. That's how she saw it.
The Shooting Stars game is awefully lame, yet addictive. XD
