Glad to finally have a time set. I should be able to make it, it will be a welcome relaxation after my test that day, hope the rest of you find the time to be there as well.

I'm afraid to admit that I will not be participating in the hatch, as I do not have a tama available for it! Unless I can maybe pause a born baby on either the akai, v4.5 or v4s and then just unpause and go through the baby's life that way... Basically, I don't believe I'll know for sure until that night... but I believe I will be there just to chill. All the same, I am excited!

Blah. I can't make it because I'm going to my friend's birthday party.  Did you see my post about wanting it the 28th? What's wrong with Sunday?

Don't worry, it will still be fun even if you don't have anything to hatch! I have a couple of exciting game ideas that I will be unveiling tomorrow. Wink

And did you see my post that entirely explains my reasoning?

Here's a basic timeline for how I think the hatch should go, in a time zone-neutral fashion:

0:00 beginning of hatch
0:15 give stragglers some time to arrive, let everyone get their Tamas together, greetings and such
0:20 plan our Hallowe'en-themed Tama names!
0:29:50 Countdown to hatch! Ten... nine... eight...
0:30 HATCH!
0:31 eggs start hatching on our screens
0:31-1:30 everyone's dealing with baby stages. Hallowe'en-themed chat, sharing ghost stories or Hallowe'en crafts like costumes and such
1:30 transformations begin! Share characters
1:31-1:59 Vampires! game
2:00 announce winner of Vampires!
2:01 stay and chat if you like, maybe play more games if you feel like it?

So Vampires! is my first game idea for the hatch. Let me know if you guys think it sounds fun, or if you'd like to change it. I thought I would post the rules in advance so that people would know how to play when they came in and I could just link them to this post instead of explaining it in chat.

The game is a modification on "mafia" - I'm going to call it "Vampires!" in honour of Hallowe'en. Here's how it works:

I will announce that the game has begun. I will pick someone at random and PM them, "you're the vampire". Then that person PMs a victim of their choice with something like "CHOMP!" or "bite!" or "you've been bitten!". The victim must then write in the public chat, "aaghgghghhghg" or some similar 'aaaggh I'm dead' sound. Wink The more dramatic, the better!

Then begins the "voting phase" of the game. All the survivors (including the vampire, who is keeping their vampire identity a secret!) must then discuss and try to figure out which of them is the vampire. Of course the vampire will do their best to mislead everyone and conceal their identity. Then everyone must vote for the person that they think is the vampire. I am the Slayer! (aka referee) and I slay whomever is voted to be the vampire. If you chose correctly, the person who was bitten gets revived, and instead the vampire is dead! If you don't, the vampire is still at large, and they get to choose their next victim!

[People who have been bitten and were not revived, or vampires that were slain in the last round, become the undead. They cannot vote or try to persuade voters, because they know exactly who the vampire is. So to keep them from getting bored, I will have some Hallowe'en trivia for them to play and get Zombie Points, in the backup chatroom. Whoever gets the most Zombie Points will be crowned King or Queen Zombie. Grin ]

If the vampire is slain, all its victims are revived and I PM a new person to be the new vampire, and the game begins again.

If we get down to having only three people still alive in the voting stage, and if they still vote for the wrong person, the vampire wins!

Otherwise, at the end of the game (after five, ten, or however many rounds before people get bored), I will count up everyone's votes and assign points according to who voted correctly the most times, and that person is the winner of the civilians.

How does that sound to everyone? Any changes you'd like to see?

If you want to extend the hatch beyond two hours, we can play more games if you like. Feel free to post suggestions, or even just "we want more!" and I'll try to think of more. Smiley

Sounds like and awesome game to me, this whole event looks very well planned and looks like it will be one of the most fun we've had.
Hopefully everyone shows up.

This looks really great Elana! Smiley I'm so excited to attend the hatching. I still don't know what I'm going to hatch though!! Huh I don't really have any Halloween themed Tamas, maybe a P2 will be the good choice. Cheesy

...CRAP.

I totally forgot that I was going to see 'Cats' on that night. x_x At exactly the same time that the Hatching will be taking place, too.
That sucks.

Guess I can't attend after all. Sorry, guys. =(
